Reporting on Magic Johnson's birthday bash for wife Cookie at LA's House of Blues, we told you how Bobby Brown jumped onstage and started singing off-key, making guests and wife Whitney Houston groan. But to set the record straight, Magic Johnson tells us he never uttered the words attributed to him about the couple being "on" something.

We stand corrected, Magic. (P.S.: Magic wants the world to know he's eternally grateful for Whitney's touching rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Cookie.).
