my love is your love world tour

The Voice: Let me just say right up front that Whitney was in GREAT voice, she sounded
absolutely fabulous! Yes there was a missed note and a bit of hoarseness every now and
then but it was nothing to complain about. Overall her voice was strong and powerful and
she sang beautifully.
The stage: There are three giant circular metal sculptures in the background along with a
metal staircase.
The Show: Whitney entered the stage from the top of the staircase, she was wearing the
outfit she had on in the beginning of the Oprah show, the black slacks with a black
jeweled tank top except this time she had a jacket on with it. It was the black jacket
they showed on the Oprah show with the long jeweled train (the "Diva train" is
what Whitney called it), and the fur collar. She looked FABULOUS!!! Her hair was in the
same bob style.
She opened the show with "Get It Back", and she and her four female dancers tore
it up! She then sang "Heartbreak Hotel" and then "If I told You that".
Somewhere along the way she took the jacket off and just had on the slacks and tank top.
After IITYT the crowd was on there feet and it was clear to Whitney that we were feeling
her and she made it clear to us that she was feeling us right back, she started talking to
us and told us how she loved Chicago and was glad to be kicking off her tour here and of
course the crowd was going crazy. She then told us she wanted to take us back to around
1985 and she sang "Saving all my love for you" and then went into "Until
You Comeback". After UYCB she said and ladies when your man comes back to you just
"Say Yes" ("don't say no, don't say maybe, just say yes") she sang
this song and y'all she just really brought it to life, she added some dramatic pauses and
really made me realize just how sexy this song truly is (I have a whole new respect for
it). Next was "Exhale" and then "I learned from the Best" and yes she
hit the note at the end of ILFTB and held it for quite a while, not as long as on the CD
but she held it long enough. She then left the stage (via the staircase) and her brother
Gary came out and sang a classic Stevie Wonder song, I believe the name of it is
"Higher Ground" I'm not sure. He did a great job though.
Whitney came back on stage and this time she was wearing this really funky outfit (they
also showed this one on Oprah) it has a black tank top and shear black skirt with a pair
of capri blue jeans under it and some black boots. She sang "I'm Every Woman"
then sang what she called a remix version of "I wanna dance with Somebody" and
"How will I know". Next up was "In My Business" and she talked about
how everybody likes to stay up in her's. Her dancers came out with camera's like they were
the press trying to get pictures of her. She ended the song by saying "get a
job".
She then took us to Church and sang "I love the Lord" and "I go to the
Rock", and I mean she took us to Church! She really comes to life when she sings
gospel. She thanked her mother Cissy who was sitting in the audience for teaching and
raising her in the church. Cissy stood up and got a standing ovation from the crowd. It
was such a beautiful moment and Whitney was so caught up in the spirit that she must have
forgotten where she was in the show because she had to ask somebody what was next. The
band started playing the music to "It's not right, but it's Ok" and the crowd
went wild again. Whitney said "Oh y'all like this song". She said ladies I bet
you really like this song and all the ladies screamed. She then went over to this one lady
in the audience and handed her the mic and let her sing the song the lady turned around
and started singing it to the person she was with and when Whitney got the mic back she
asked her who was she singing it to the man sitting next to her and the lady was like no I
was singing it to her and pointed to the woman on the other side of her Whitney was like
her? not him? Ooooo? It was too funny. She also gave the mic to this little boy and let
him sing some and he didn't really know the words so he made up his own lyrics it was
really cute. She introduced the band and Bobbi Kris made her first appearance and said
hello to the audience. She thanked us for making her movies successful and said that it
was a dream come true for her. She sang a medley of "I believe in you and me/Why does
it hurts so bad/Hurts like Hell". Then came the crowd pleaser "I will always
love You" and she nailed it yall she dotted every I and crossed every T. The crowd
was back on there feet again. She said goodnight and left the stage but this crowd was not
having it. We were begging for more, on our feet screaming and yelling her name, clapping
like crazy. And you know our diva didn't disappoint us, she came back on stage this time
wearing some leopard print pants, a tank top and a blue furry jacket. She had Bobbi Kris
with her and they sang the Wyclef remix of "My love is your Love", it was the
bomb! Her dancers came out with a limbo stick and Whitney picked three people from the
audience to come on stage and do the limbo with her, it was great. The final song was
"Step by Step".
All in all it was a GREAT show. The best Whitney show I have seen (and this is my third
one). Whitney was in good spirits and had a great rapport with the audience. We showed her
sooo much love and she appreciated it and gave it right back to us. This show is a must
see for anyone who calls themselves a fan. If you don't have tickets then I strongly
recommend you get some. It will be well worth the money. Peace.
P. S.-The opening act was 112 and not Kelly Price. I don't know what happened with Kelly
or if she was joining them at some point but she wasn't there tonight. However to my
surprise 112 put on a good show and turned out to be a good opening act. I would have
rather seen Kelly but they were good also.
