THE EUROPEAN TOUR 1998
REVIEW
Review By Nadine (Halle Germany, 20 June 1998)
She hasnīt been to the bottom , but now sheīs back
on top and I feel it in the rhythm when she starts to rock ... rock ??? ...
When Whitney started to sing "Iīm Every Woman ", her concert and tour opener.
As always she looked fantastic in her black dress . It wasnīt difficult to her keeping
the crowd in motion . Her support act Connor Reeves did a good job as well and Whitney let
us wait for 5 years now , so you can guess how crazy the Germans went . The fans
celebrated "their" Whitney shouting, hand-clapping , jumping and singing
("If you feel like singing ...SING!") in the hot (not just because of the
weather; about 30°C ) Gerry-Weber-Stadium .
Nippy changed her clothes (after songs like "So Emotional","All The Man
That I Need", "Queen Of The Night", "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who
Loves Me)", a medley and many more) while her brother Gary "change(d) the world
". Together they did the duet "Endless love". It "Ainīt No
Mountain" high enough to hide who is "The Boss" .Whitney was very relaxed,
in good shape and loved to joke . She introduced her band (Ricky Minor , Bashiri
Johnson,...) with " I Go To The Rock ". After about 90 minutes Whitney sang her
last song "I Will Always Love You". Standing ovations , clapping hands , shouts
and jumping people for about 15 minutes!!! Whitney finally returned to do her very last
song "Step by Step". The show was marvelous and I canīt wait to see her again !
Captured , thereīs no getaway ... Till then , Nadine
