WHITNEY - TOOK MY BREATH AWAY
Tonight, I assumed would be a wonderful night. But, never in my whole life did I imagine I
would see such a spectacular show, based around one thing. A LEGENDARY VOICE..!!!! I've
always loved Whitney, but after tonight, I not only love and respect her even more, but I
wanna see every show she ever does.....!!
Most of the fans were ready and seated at 8:00pm. Conner Reeves, the opening act, who was
quite amazing himself, opened the show a few minutes before 8:00pm..... Afer that, the
crowd were just going crazy, they were all clapping, and the whole SELL-OUT Arena was
almost shaking with exitment as the crowd waited for Nippy to come on..!!! Whitney came on
stage around 9:15 am, and I must tell you, I have never seen Whitney in person, this is my
first concert Live, and she is such a beautiful lady. I mean, she looks just like she does
in her videos, and movies, and photo's..!!! Anyway, Whitney came on wearing a tight sexy
black dress covered in silver sequins, and broke into "I'm Every Woman" and she
had the crown tearing the place down as they sung along with her..!!!
Whitney was also very warm towards the crowd, she smiled and waved constantly, and talked
to the crown in between songs. Then she did "So Emotional" and then I heard her
voice shift into gear, she was electric, her voice is so strong, it wasn't high pitched,
but it was perfect for that song, and the crowd, well, lets just say, everyone, I mean
everyone was on their feet dancing and clapping..!!
The show slowed for a moment as she sat and done the all time classic "All The Man I
Need". When she sung, she bought the house down, people around me seemed dazed and
shocked at the shear presence of this multi-talented lady. Then as if by magic, the show
took a faster pace as Nippy went into "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves
Me)" and the crowd surely does love Whitney. Nearly everyone was singing along to the
chorus...!!!
Then came my all time favorite "Saving All My Love For You" this is where
Whitney got me, her voice, it just went through me, right into me, and just blew me away,
but that was just the begining, she then went into a medly of classics, from "Didn't
We Almost Have It All" with a bit of "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" and then
"Where Do Broken Hearts Go" and closing it saying to the crowd, it's alright to
say "YOU LOVE ME"..................
After a rapd change, Whitney took the back seat as Gary, (her brother) sang Eric Clapton's
"Change The World"..... Whitney then came back on to sing "Queen Of The
Night" and a medly of Diana Ross songs..!!!
Next came "I Love The Lord" Whitney blew away the entire crowd, not only did she
get standing ovation after standing ovation, but she was almost drowned out by the crowd
as they all rose to their feet and clapped their hands together, it was just electric, she
was amazing....!!
Then came "I Go To The Rock" and then the stunner, the song all the British Fans
came to hear "I Will Always Love You". At certain points of the song, Whitney's
voice kept on peaking and peaking at higher and higher notes. You could most certainly
tell this is the song most people wanted to hear, the crowds went ballistic..! At one
point of the song I managed to catch Whitney's eyes, and I waved to her, and she waved
back to me and smiled..!! It might mean nothing to some people, but to me, it was
heaven..!! :-) Then she said her goodnights, telling the crowd next time "I will do a
few more shows over here...!"
For an encore, she did "Step By Step" during this song, Bobby Brown, yes, her
husband came onto the stage and started dancing with Whitney. He then later carried
Whitney on his back and they dissappeared on an elevator...!! A perfect night, a perfect
show, a very classy lady, Thank you Whitney for giving us all such a memorable time
tonight..!!!! I'll always love you..!!!
