Billboard Confirms Whitney Houston will perform at this year's Diva Duets show on 22 May 2003. Also confirmed in the line-up are Celine Dion, Beyonce Knowles, Lisa Marie Presley, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan and Jewel. This PRNewswire Report also confirms the appearance with details of how fans can obtain tickets for the show which will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Arista Records have issued This Press Release which details the forthcoming album, Ultimate Dance Divas. The CD will contain fifteen tracks, of which the new Peter Rauhofer Remix of 'Love That Man' will feature, likely the first time this remix will be available on CD. The album will also feature the classic Thunderpuss remix of 'It's Not Right But It's Okay'.

Whitney Houston will take her first acting role in several years when she guest-stars as herself on the FOX series. A Winslow High student writes her a 10-page letter asking if she'll be his prom date, and to everyone's surprise, she accepts. Houston will also work with former "American Idol" finalist Tamyra Gray, who's wrapping up her recurring role as the shy but talented student Aisha. She's set to sing at the prom, but when she hears Houston -- her idol -- will be there, she gets stage fright. Houston does her best to help Aisha get over her nerves, giving an unplanned performance of "Try It on My Own," her latest single. This morning on 'Good Day Live', one of the hosts mentioned that Whitney Houston will sing on Boston Public during the season finale. The show is an American drama based on the lives of students and faculty at a High School based in Boston and tackles issues such as drug abuse, teenage pregnancy and racism. MTV France has published this report that suggests 'Try It On My Own' will not be promoted by BMG when it is released commercially. The French Whitney Houston website, www.whitneyonly.com, has started this petition that hopes to attain online signatures to present to BMG France, representing the disappointment of the fans.

Look for Whitney's forthcoming DVD single
Whitney Houston was a featured on 'Extra' (US tabloid show) in a behind the scenes look at her new video, 'Try It On My Own'. Video director David LaChapelle said he was 'blown away' by the diva and that she "looked great and she turned it out, and she just nailed it every time." In the video, Whitney is to sing for some casting people, but to their dismay she decides at the last moment to sing her own tune rather than one that had been selected. Rolling Stone Associate Editor, Kirk Miller says there is a message here: "The song is talking about how she's not a girl making foolish choices anymore...she wants to be right or wrong but do it on her own." Miller says the song is also an attempt by Whitney to get back to what made her a star, "Which is Whitney and her voice and a very simple arrangement and it's a ballad. Very old school Whitney." This is Rupaul's account of his meeting Whitney Houston recently, as posted on is website. I met WHITNEY HOUSTON tonight...my friend SAMI invited me to a screening of GUNS AND ROSES, the new western starring LIL KIM and BOBBY BROWN. during the film, I got up to go to the restroom, and as I approached the area where the restroom doors are, I saw BOBBY standing in front of the door with 2 bodyguards. I rarely ever say hello to celebrities for fear of getting my feelings hurt, so I just walked on by, but before I could go in, BOBBY said “RU ?...BOBBY BROWN” and I said “HI, i’m RU” and we shook hands. As I turned to go into the mens room, WHITNEY was exiting the ladies room and our eyes met and we smiled. As the mens room door closed behind me, I could hear BOBBY telling WHITNEY that “that was RuPAUL”. Next thing I knew and before I could do my thing, BOBBY had come into the mens room and said “RU, my wife wants to meet you”. I walked out into the hallway and there she was. She looked absolutely beautiful and healthy, wearing a pair of tight jeans and a low cut blouse under a leather blazer. She said “I love you...I love your work, man” and I said “Thank you... I love you, too”, as we smiled, shook hands and said goodbye. [Thanks Amit K.]
