apart, sparking rumors of a split but they were spotted enjoying a
romantic dinner in Atlanta, Ga., last week.

lot of 'splaining to do in court on Wednesday, Feb. 4, when he attends a
preliminary hearing for charges that he abused wife Whitney Houston.
Though the two were recently spotted kissing and canoodling (they sipped
green sour-apple martinis and Budweisers at an Atlanta restaurant on Jan.
22, PEOPLE reported), things were less than tender when Houston called
police on Dec. 8 from the couple's home near Alpharetta, Ga., alleging
that Brown had struck her on the left side of her face. Police reported at
the time that Houston had a bruised cheek and a cut inside her upper lip.
With battery charges against Brown, he faces up to a year in jail and a
$1,000 fine.

Associated Press: Antonio "L.A." Reid, who took the helm at Arista Records nearly four years ago and oversaw platinum successes from acts including OutKast, Pink and Avril Lavigne, has left the label, it was announced Tuesday.
