Let's sing a duet: Bappi to Whitney

Bappi Lahiri is in the initial stages of negotiations with Hollywood singer
Whitney Houston to cut a music album.
Bappi Lahiri, whose music compositions saw golden and platinum jubilees in
the 80s and 90s, for music compositions like Namak Halal, Shaarabi, Tohfa,
Himmatwala, Dance Dance and Disco Dancer to name a few, is all set to team
up with Houston.
Houston is a huge star and has songs like I will always love you from the
hit film Bodyguard and solo hits like I'm every woman to her credit.
Bappi has composed music for a record of 440 films in Hindi and Bengali and
has a record of composing 37 films in a year.
He has given the background score for films like Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Mara
in 2005 which earned him a lot of critical acclaim and also was appreciated
at the MAMI festival.
When not busy making music, Bappi has been filing law suits. In 2002-03, he
was in Los Angeles where he had filed a suit against a music composer who
had stolen his song Kaliyon ka Chaman, he says. "I won the lawsuit," Bappi
claims.
From 2004-06, he composed music for Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam - a Shah Rukh
Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan starrer.
He also composed music for the film Taxi No 9211. For his new film Deewana
Hoon Mein Tera, he has sung with Boy George and Apache Indian.
The latest offering from his stable is Cabaret which has Aseem Chetrapal. In
his various forthcoming ventures, he is also going to sing with Sharon
Prabhakar, Hindi pop star Daler Mehandi, Sa-Re-Ga-Ma winner Debojit, Adnam
Sami, Shivani Kashyup, Arti Chhaberia, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
Bappi has also recorded a hip hop song with actress Jaya Prada.
