BRITNEY TO TOP UK ALBUM
WHITNEY HOUSTON thrashed Britney Spears in the race to the top of the UK album
charts this Sunday (May 21).
The soul diva's 'Greatest Hits' went straight in at Number One, while young pretender
Spears, with her second album 'Oops! I Did It Again', had to be content with Number Two.
Last week's Number One Tom Jones fell to Number Three with 'Reload', Moby's 'Play' dropped
two places to Number Four and Pearl Jam's new opus 'Binaural' went straight in at Number
Five.
Paul Simon's 'Greatest Hits/Shining Like A National Guitar' entered the charts at Number
Six, British guitar pop merchants The Bluetones were another new entry at Number Seven
with 'Science & Nature' and Santana fell five places to Number Eight with
'Supernatural'.
Dr Dre dropped two to Number Nine with '2001' and Engelbert Humperdinck fell five to
Number Ten with 'At His Very Best'.
The other new entries this week were: Super Furry Animals (11), Lesley Garrett (28), Hans
Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard (33) and Caribbean Soul (44).
