Presenting the "Courage" Award to Muhammed Ali, Whitney Houston looked sophisticated & sexy, sporting golden auburn hair with matching lipstick, and wearing a long-sleeved black leather dress that came to just below her knees. She remarked that "Greatest Love of All" is her favorite of all the songs she has recorded (it was written for the 1977 film about Ali, "The Greatest") & told an enthusiastic audience to "Give it up" for Ali when he came onstage to receive his award. In Milan recently, Kevin popped up as a model on the catwalk at a Versus fashion show for men. Jimmy Ray provided a storming live accomaniment to the show which was watched by the likes of Carys from Catatonia, Skin from Skunk Anansie and the very gorgeous diva-of-them-all, Whitney Houston who apparently caused everyone in the room to double-take as she made her entrance! PASADENA, Calif. -- Whoopi Goldberg is looking forward to putting her wit on display in the revived "Hollywood Squares" game show. But less gifted celebrities are welcome, too. A staff of comedy writers will provide scripted comebacks so "even the most dense of stars can come and play this game," said Goldberg, who will regularly fill the show's center square. Among the celebrities set to visit are Sharon Stone, Whitney Houston and Garth Brooks. The lure, Goldberg said Wednesday, is that the stars' favorite charities will benefit. Contestants in the tic-tac-toe game can come out ahead, too, with cash and prizes worth as much as $50,000. The syndicated show with host Tom Bergeron is set for a Sept. 14 debut. Goldberg said she decided to take the job because it's fun and "I don't want to work as hard anymore." "And they offered me a really beautiful amount of money," she added. NEWSFILE: 13 JULY 1998

[From CNN Showbiz] NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Whitney Houston will get back to her gospel music roots this month with a performance at the Dove Awards ceremony. Houston said she will sing "I Go to the Rock" -- a Dove nominee -- during the April 23 show, to be broadcast live on The Nashville Network. The Dove Awards are the Christian music industry's version of the Grammy Awards. Houston boycotted this year's Grammy Awards because her movie soundtrack album "The Preacher's Wife" was nominated in the rhythm and blues category instead of gospel. On Wednesday, she said she was honored to receive a nomination from the gospel community. "I Go to the Rock," which is from "The Preacher's Wife," is nominated for a Dove Award for best traditional gospel recorded song. John Tesh and Naomi Judd will host the Dove Awards ceremony.
