Clive Davis Takes Over BMG North
America

Clive Davis has been named chairman/CEO of BMG North America, it was
announced today (Feb. 2).
Davis, who was chairman/CEO of RCA Music Group, will report to BMG
chairman/CEO Rolf Schmidt-Holtz. Davis will lead BMG North America out of
New York. He will oversee a newly formed group that combines operations of
Arista, J, RCA and Jive (the latter remains headed by Barry Weiss). Davis
will also oversee BMG Distribution, BMG Strategic Marketing and BMG Canada.
Charles Goldstuck, who was president/COO of RCA Music Group, becomes
president/COO of BMG North America. He continues to report to Davis.
Goldstuck will oversee consolidated business operations.
Davis' relationship with BMG dates to 1979, when the major acquired Arista,
which he founded in 1975. Davis led Arista until 2000, when he exited to
launch J. In 2002, he was named to lead the RCA Music Group, which combined
J and RCA Records.
