Bobby not so bad, but still fined
ATLANTA - A traffic court judge praised
washed-up singer Bobby Brown as a role model yesterday - but slapped him
with a $1,450 fine for marijuana possession and other charges.
Brown, 34, who wore jeans, a white T-shirt and leg shackles to Atlanta
traffic court, pleaded guilty to driving without a license and no contest to
other charges, including pot possession, stemming from an arrest in
November.
It was the latest in a long string of legal troubles for Brown.
Judge Calvin Graves socked Brown with fines but praised him as a good role
model who has "a wonderful wife" and comes from a good family.
His pop diva wife, Whitney Houston, wasn't in court yesterday but was by
Brown's side at another court hearing Wednesday, telling Brown, "Stay
strong, baby."
Earlier yesterday, Brown was released after serving seven days in DeKalb
County Jail on a probation violation. He was arrested Aug. 22 while dining
with Houston at a seafood restaurant.
