Here's a great success story in the drive to get the real story of Whitney's Atlantic City shows to the media: Lopez called 92Q in Baltimore to set the record straight. The station had just played 'Same Script, Different Cast' at the time: I spoke to Marva and told her what I was calling about. She was like 'Wow', she put me on hold and came back with the main morning DJ (I'm not sure if it was Mark or Troy). I told them that I was at the concert and told them that that story was completely false and fabricated. They were like 'wow, unbelievable'. When I told them that she looked great and put on a wonderful show, they were like' that's good, we're glad to hear it'. I went into more detail and mentioned that the only cover was Aretha's 'It Hurts Like Hell' from the 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack. The DJ said, 'That's a killer song' and I responded, '...Yes it is and [Whitney] tore it up, in fact she sung it at all of her US concert dates...'. If you live in D.C or Baltimore, listen to 92Q, The chat with Lopez was recorded and it may get played over again. You can also email them or call them to thank them for allowing the lies about the Atlantic City show to be put right. NEWSFILE: 19 JULY 2000 |
