The Wedding Singer Cancels...
[From NY Daily News]
There'll be a little less star power at the wedding of Liza Minnelli and David Gest
tomorrow. Whitney Houston won't be serenading the couple at Marble Collegiate Church.
When Houston called Liza to break the news, the bride-to-be cried into the phone, a friend
tells us. Gest tried every which way to get the singer to attend, the pal adds.
But Houston is in the midst of recording a CD in Florida. Her spokeswoman would say only,
"She sends Liza and David her best wishes."
Still, a source tells us that friends did not want Whitney to be part of the show.
A spokesman for the couple sniped, "David and Liza hope Whitney is well."
Houston's musical chair will be filled by Natalie Cole, who will sing
"Unforgettable" as the couple goes down the aisle.
