PerthNow: Whitney Houston Perth concert cancelled
THE promoter of Whitney
Houston's Australian tour has cancelled her Perth concert - saying there
aren't enough trucks to bring her stage equipment west.
"Andrew McManus has today regrettably announced that due to difficulties in
securing rock n roll air ride trucks to transport the touring sound and
lighting equipment to Perth, Whitney Houston’s concert at ME Bank Stadium on
Saturday 6 March 2010 has had to be cancelled," the promoter said in a
statement today.
The AC/DC and George Michael tours had taken up 95% of the air ride trucks
available, the promoter said.
Ticket holders were urged to contact Ticketmaster (136 100) for full
refunds.
A second Perth concert advertised for March 7 at the same venue was
cancelled previously.
The remainder of the Australian tour would proceed as scheduled, the
statement said.
