Houston, Helping Children - The Washington Post

Whitney Houston, in town for concerts tonight and Sunday, went to the Hill on Wednesday to speak up for child advocacy. Later, she and husband Bobby Brown had a lunch punctuated with much resounding laughter at Seasons restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel, where they're staying.

The singer's appearance and performances coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Children's Defense Fund. The concerts benefit CDF; Houston has donated her appearance fees, and Time Warner, whose HBO subsidiary is broadcasting Sunday night's Constitution Hall concert live, has ponied up $50,000.
