says Whitney with £35m* contract
Whitney Houston has landed one of the biggest ever record deals - just for renewing her
contract with her record label. The singer is to re-sign to Arista with a contract
estimated to be worth £35m. Executives at Arista refused to confirm the exact sum, except
to call it "very, very significant". Rumours began flying last year that Houston
would leave Arista with its founder Clive Davis who has formed J records. But new Arista
boss Antonio Reid made it a top priority to hold on to the singer, according to the New
York Post.
