Motherly Shove
Drug-troubled Whitney Houston was
persuaded to enter rehab after an emotional intervention by her mother.
A source close to the family tells us Cissy Houston feared for her
daughter's health when the singer had to be hospitalized in February after
becoming ill on a flight from Paris.
While the media were told Houston had been suffering from gastroenteritis
caused by food poisoning, family insiders say that was not the real reason.
Said the source: "Cissy's been extremely upset. She's concerned for
Whitney's health and wants her to see the treatment through this time."
Houston is in rehab in a facility near her Atlanta home.
Meanwhile, Houston's husband, Bobby Brown, is hard at work with hip-hop
producer Jazze Pha on his comeback CD.
A pal says he has already recorded a remake of his hit song "Roni," which he
is hoping to parlay into a deal with Warner Bros. Records.
His reality show, "Being Bobby Brown," is still tentatively set to debut
this year.
