[This Is London - Friday March 23, 05:07 PM]Bond eyes up Whitney HoustonBy Richard Simpson The makers of 007 confirmed for the first time today that Whitney Houston is being lined up to play the next Bond girl. The soul diva - who starred with Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard from which she had a number one hit I Will Always Love You - and film group MGM have both said that she is being considered for the part. Houston, 37, is set to be the love interest of James Bond, played by Pierce Brosnan, 47, when shooting begins later this year. The only confirmed castings so far are John Cleese who is to play "R" and Dame Judi Dench who will again play "M". If Houston lands the role in the film - provisionally titled Bond 20 - she will join the ranks of the Bond girls such as Ursula Andress, Diana Rigg and Honor Blackman. NEWSFILE: 25 MARCH 2001 |
