Cojo Visits Queen Latifah in the 'Beauty Shop'!

Our self-admitted, tress-obsessed STEVEN COJOCARU heads to
the salon to chat with Oscar nominee QUEEN LATIFAH, about hair, celebrity
makeovers, and who she hopes will be showing up in her November 24-slated
flick, 'Beauty Shop.'
"We may have a wonderful cameo by a beautiful woman named WHITNEY," she
says, cackling like a lady with something up her sleeve.
"Wait, is this an exclusive scoopola?" Our Cojo asks.
"It's so exclusive that nobody knows about it -- it doesn't even exist yet!"
she says.
Cojo digs deeper: Whitney? As in married to a singer -- as in the diva?
"I can't say, I can't say, but we'll see," the coy Queen says.
In 'Beauty Shop,' her regalness plays Gina, the same character she portrayed
in the ICE CUBE-hit 'Barbershop 2' from earlier this year. This fun flick
takes us inside the minds of women and the stylists who do their lovely
locks. ALICIA SILVERSTONE plays the minority shampoo girl who says they
"talk about everything from sex to OPRAH," in the fictional shop. KEVIN
BACON also stars as a flamboyant hairstylist, who Alicia describes as, "a
very snooty, full of himself, fabulous hairdresser."
The 'Clueless' star said her co-star Latifah was a joy to work with. "She's
awesome, she's really funny and so friendly."
Latifah revealed to Cojo that she's had some experience with the clippers.
So he asked the burning question, "What would you do with DONALD TRUMP?"
"You know, some people don't like his hair, but I actually dig it," she
says. "I think it's interesting and it's him. I can't really imagine him
without that hairstyle. I mean, what are you going to do with that hair?"
The multi-talented star also says she'd tell National Security Adviser
CONDOLEEZZA RICE to "cool out on the reverse flip" and "just straighten it
out and drop it over the eye, like AALIYAH." But the query Cojo really
wanted the answer to was, "What would you do with me?!" "We're going to
definitely take you over to the shampoo bowl and shampoo and condition it,
and then I'm going to lay some heat on your a$$!" Latifah promises!
And Cojo confesses that he's no stranger to the straightening devices. "My
hair takes 7-1/2 hours to do," Cojo discloses. "Lying down, they give me
sleeping medication and while I'm in REM sleep, they straighten my hair.
Because I have a 'fro ... and it's not pretty!"
