Bravo Discusses Show with Bobby Brown
(Friday, August 27 11:00 AM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Singer Bobby Brown's hiring of a crew to document
his life may end up paying off.
The former New Edition member, solo chart-topper and frequent defendant is
talking with Bravo about an unscripted show that would follow him as he
tends to his life and music career. He shot some sample footage earlier this
year and has been pitching that to networks.
A deal with Bravo isn't final yet because the two sides are negotiating over
how much of a presence Brown's wife, pop star Whitney Houston, would be in
the show. "It has not yet been decided as to what, if any, Ms. Houston's
participation will be," a Houston representative tells The Hollywood
Reporter.
Brown's production company, B2 Productions, shot a good amount of footage of
Brown and Houston this spring, soon after he spent a day in a Massachusetts
jail in a child-support case and while Houston was undergoing
drug-rehabilitation treatment. News reports at the time said a camera crew
was following them around Atlanta, where Houston sang "Happy Birthday" to a
surprised diner at a restaurant where the couple was eating.
Brown has had some other legal troubles as well, including violating
probation on a drunken-driving charge.
The show is likely to focus on Brown's efforts to return to the top of the
music charts, including reuniting the members of New Edition.
