Bravo Extends 'Bobby Brown'
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Bravo found
some success this summer with "Being Bobby Brown," so it's not quite ready
to let the show end.
The cable network has ordered up two more episodes of the series, pushing
the finale back to Thursday, Aug. 25, giving viewers two more weeks to peek
into the not-quite-normal lives of R&B star/frequent defendant Bobby Brown,
his wife, Whitney Houston, and their kids.
"The first eight episodes of 'Being Bobby Brown' have kept Bravo viewers
buzzing and have even helped contribute to adding new catchphrases to our
pop-culture vernacular," Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick says. "This is a
highly compelling and engaging series, and we hope two new episodes will
satisfy viewers' appetites for more Bobby and Whitney."
Only one of the two episodes will be
strictly "new": The Aug. 18 installment will focus primarily on Brown and
Houston's homes in Atlanta and New Jersey. Bravo promises an "inside look"
at the two abodes, so get ready for some "Cribs"-style house porn.
The season finale on the 25th will consist of highlights from past episodes,
mixed in with some previously unseen footage.
"Being Bobby Brown" has earned some solid ratings for Bravo this season. It
debuted to 1.1 million viewers -- a huge improvement over the network's
previous performance in the time period -- and has grown some since then,
the network says.
