This special concert, featuring individual performances by each artist as well as several duets, will take place on Friday, November 10th at 8 PM. Tickets for the performance are priced at $300, $200, and $100. A six time Grammy winner and Soul Train's Female Artist of the Decade, Houston is known not only for her electrifying live performances, but also for her stellar record and video sales which exceeds 110 million worldwide, making her the biggest selling artist of all time. Newsweek wrote "no one of her generation sings with more character and conviction," and Jon Pareles of New York Times dubbed her performance at last year's VH1 Divas as "invincible." Houston, who received a standing ovation at last month's MTV Video Music Awards, commemorated her 15th year of recording in May with a 2 CD greatest hits package featuring a unique mix of classic ballads like "The Greatest Love of All," and "One Moment in Time," with up tempo signature cuts and remixes, (including "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "I'm Every Woman," and "How Will I Know,") New duets with Deborah Cox, George Michael and Enrique Iglesias round out the 36 track set which has already sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Houston's career contains a substantial list of achievements. Her debut album, Whitney Houston, released in 1985, became the biggest selling debut by a solo artist. By the time her follow-up album, Whitney, was released, she had garnered seven consecutive number one hits, surpassing a record previously set by the Beatles and the Bee Gees. A series of soundtrack albums - including Waiting to Exhale and The Preachers Wife added to her multi-platinum collection. But, it was "The Bodyguard" that shattered records. In addition to making Houston's acting debut, the film featured "I Will Always Love You," the biggest selling commercial single in history. To date, the album has sold 36 million copies worldwide. In 1999, Whitney released her critically acclaimed studio album, "My Love is Your Love." This record earned her a sixth Grammy and yielded several hit singles including "It's Not Right, But It's Okay," "Heartbreak Hotel," and "When You Believe," a duet with Mariah Carey. Four years before Houston's recording debut, Bobby Brown formed New Edition in his native Roxbury, Massachusetts. Within two years, the group was releasing gold and platinum records like, "Cool It Now," "Count Me Out," and "Mr. Telephone Man." His breakthrough 1988 solo LP Don't Be Cruel generated 4 top 5 singles - "Don't Be Cruel," "Roni," "My Prerogative," and "Every Little Step," which earned Brown a Grammy Award. American Music Awards and Soul Train Music Awards followed as Brown followed up with the multi platinum Bobby. He reunited with New Edition in 1997 for the Home Again tour. His next release, Forever, was a seamless blend of hip hop and rhythm an blues. Brown is currently at work on a new album, soon to be released.
