FRESH out of drug rehabilitation, six-time Grammy award winner Whitney Houston is scheduled to perform in China next month, the state-controlled China News Service said today.

The Chinese authorities have reportedly have given the go-ahead for a concert in Shanghai on July 22.
But they did not appear to have made their approval conditional on any particular requirements with regards to the pop diva's outfit or behaviour.

This is in contrast to a planned China tour next year by Britney Spears, which has triggered worries among local officials that the American pop princess might offend local morals with a revealing outfit.

Chinese organisers have also applied for permission for a Whitney Houston concert in Beijing on July 25 and are still waiting for approval, the news agency said.

US band the Backstreet Boys are also expected to visit China in September. But the agency did not say if any special arrangements will be made for the clothes they will be wearing.
