Whitney Houston World Tour '99 to Commence in U.S. NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--May 14, 1999--The Whitney Houston World Tour '99 will commence in the U.S. with a 15 city nationwide tour beginning in Chicago, Illinois on June 22, 1999. This is the superstar's first U.S. concert tour in five years. Houston will be performing new songs from her latest album, My Love Is Your Love, as well as many of her classic hits. My Love Is Your Love has already been certified 5X Platinum worldwide and produced a #1 hit single "Heartbreak Hotel." The European chart topping hit, "It's Not Right But It's Okay," has just been released in the U.S. with impressive results. A string of high-profile live performances by the superstar songstress following the release of her album have fueled anticipation for a tour. Among them were a show-stopping turn on "The Brits" awards show in the U.K in February, a performance at the Academy Awards and a headlining performance on VH-1's "Divas Live/99" which garnered rave reviews (including The New York Times which characterized Whitney's performance as "invincible").
