[Article from USA Today]Whitney Houston taking her 'Love' songs to intimate places: Pop diva Whitney Houston says she's hoping to "reach out and touch someone" on her first concert tour in four years. The tour kicks off in Chicago June 22; tickets for several dates will go on sale May 21. More dates are likely to be added to the initial cities. Houston, who has sold 2 million copies of her latest album "My Love Is Your Love" in the USA (and 3 million more internationally), says she plans to play more intimate venues this time around and promises a mix of songs from her new album and past hits. "I've turned down a lot of arena dates because I've done the big-arena thing", says Houston. "Now I want to do something where people can feel me and I can feel them. This show is going to have a jam-session kind of feel". Chicago - June 22 Further dates are expected to be added shortly. NEWSFILE: 14 MAY 1999 |
