Lena Horne has reportedly agreed to let Whitney Houston play her in an upcoming biopic about her life. Lena Horne is arguably most famous for the song 'Stormy Weather', but aside from being an accomplished jazz singer, she was a pioneer for Black actors on the silver screen during the 40s and 50s when racism prevented her from having significant parts in movies. WXIA-TV Atlanta/11 Alive reports that Whitney Houston was ordered into rehab after a petition was sent to the Fulton County Courthouse. Entertainment attorney, Vincent Dimmock who is the acting as spokesperson for Whitney's family confirmed that sheriffs escorted Whitney to a facility and has said "Whitney is doing just fine right now, she's receiving proper care and treatment." New York Daily News speculates that Whitney Houston's return to a rehabilitation facility is at the prompting of her mother, Cissy Houston. Citing a source close to the family, the report says "Cissy Houston feared for her daughter's health when the singer had to be hospitalized in February after becoming ill on a flight from Paris."
